Technical Specifications

System Support

SecurusVault supports:

  • Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7
  • Standard 32-bit and 64-bit versions of XP and Vista
  • Windows Server 2003 & 2008*.   * Because Windows Server configurations vary, some servers configurations may prevent SecursVault from working properly. For example, the use of proxies or firewalls may interfere with the proper communication with our servers. We recommend to install the free trial version and test it. We are also available to discuss custom solutions upon request.
  • Mac OSX 10.5 and later

SecurusVault can support upon request

  • Linux operating systems*  To be defined according to the distribution, but most popular distributions can be supported.

SecurusVault does not support

  • Older versions of Windows (Windows 98, Windows 2000, and Windows ME)

Online Backup Policy

  • Select files and folders to be uploaded. By default, SecurusVault does not automatically select any file or folder.
  • Available backup options:
    1. Single device backup: the file or folder will be accessible only from the originating device and the web
    2. Multi device backup: same as the single device backup plus the files or folders will be copied and kept synchronized with all registered computers.
    3. Web archive: it’s an alternative to FTP – just upload your files and they will be stored on our servers. No synchronization and no file history available.
  • External USB drives can be selected for upload.

Some specific Operating Systems configurations or security configurations may prevent SecurusVault from accessing hidden and systems files. All types of user files can be stored using SecurusVault:

  • Business related documents
  • Personal documents
  • Music and Video files
  • Images, etc.

Folders containing these files also can be selected and uploaded to the online storage. By default, SecurusVault does not automatically select any file or folder.

SecurusVault DOES NOT SUPPORT uploading:

  • System files,
  • Applications,
  • Files under any kind of specific security configurations


    Multi devices synchronization

    • Install SecurusVault on several computers and keep files and folders versions in synch. Any modifications performed on a given file or folder will be propagated on all devices (if the multi device backup is selected)

    Data history

    • SecurusVault keeps all the history of files and folders modifications so that you can go back in time looking for lost content.
    • All versions can be completely deleted from the system with a scheduled purge operation (the duration range from a few minutes to several hours according to the amount of deleted data).

    Remote File Access

    Web access:

    • Access backed up files from your web browser.

    NEW! iPhone app:

    • Very soon you will be able to access backed up files from the SecurusVault iPhone app. Available in the winter of 2010.

    Online File Sharing

    • Select files and folders and share them with other people (whether they have SecurusVault or not). They will be able to securely access the online resources for a limited or unlimited time.

    Send files from SecurusVault

    • Stored files and folders can be send as e-mail attachments directly from the SecurusVault servers without the need of uploading them again.

    Backup Administration

    Administrators are able to use the SecurusVault dashboard to:

    • Add users and storage space to their account
    • View the total storage summary and backup status for all users
    • Suspend backup activity for any user
    • Prevent users from logging into their accounts
    • Delete users or specific computers

    Administrators are never required to:

    • Designate a storage cap for their account
    • Assign individual storage quotas to individual users
